With fast access to world-reknowned beaches like Siesta Key, frequently named one of America’s best beaches by TripAdvisor, Dr. Beach and more, you can enjoy the outdoor living year-round with warm winters and beautiful weather in your slice of Florida paradise. Though our larger cities like Tampa and St. Petersburg are hives of activity, wandering just a bit further south will have you marveling at the quiet but robust areas of Englewood, North Port and Port Charlotte.

The area’s many natural features are protected by the state, so much of the wildlife and plant life are undisturbed and well-respected. You’re able to observe bobcats, scrub jays, dolphins, sea turtles, manatees and more in their natural habitats when you take advantage of the many opportunities for hiking, boating, biking and more.
While serene and peaceful, it would be a mistake to call this area “sleepy.” An active and social lifestyle is well-catered to, for those who wish to partake in the area’s many theaters, sports venues, parks, restaurants and, of course, beautiful beaches. There are local businesses that will take you on eco-tours, where you can observe wildlife on land and sea, learn about the area’s rich history and just relax and soak up some of Florida’s abundant sunshine.
The Sunshine State
Speaking of sunshine, we don’t call it “everlasting summer” for no reason; most residents find that cold-weather clothing quickly retires to the darkest corners of the closet, as our winters tend to average in temperature around 60 - 70 degrees, and the sunshine keeps us quite comfortable.
Are the summers hot? Sure. Unbearable? Absolutely not. With average temperatures of 80 - 90 degrees in the summer, we love our beach weather and flip-flops! We also enjoy breezes from the gulf, and the daily summer showers serve as a 10-minute cooldown period during the late afternoon before moving on.
